Mount Hermon Statement of Faith

Inspiration of the Bible

We believe in the divine inspiration of both the Old and New Testaments.

The Trinity

We believe in the triune nature of God—God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

Life and Ministry of Jesus

We believe in the miraculous conception, virgin birth, sinless life, substitutionary death, physical resurrection, High-Priestly ministry, and imminent return of Jesus Christ.

Human Condition

We believe that humans are inherently sinful in the eyes of God. Salvation requires being born again, and justification is based entirely on faith in Jesus Christ’s sacrifice. One’s eternal destiny is determined by accepting or rejecting Christ as Savior and Lord.

Heaven and Hell

We believe that Heaven and Hell are literal places that will serve as the final dwelling places for the saved and the lost, respectively.

The Church

We believe that every person who accepts Christ as their Savior is immediately baptized by the Holy Spirit into the invisible Church, as described in the Scriptures.

Local Church Autonomy

We believe that the local church should be self-supporting, self-governing, and self-propagating, consisting of baptized (immersed) believers.

Ordinances

We believe that the church observes two ordinances: Baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper. These ordinances are open to all believers.

Evangelism

We believe that we have both an obligation and a privilege to glorify God and witness for Him. We are committed to preaching the Gospel worldwide, motivated by our love for our Lord and Savior.

Authority of Scripture

We believe that the Word of God serves as the sole authority for the foundation and continuation of the Gospel ministry carried out by Mount Hermon Church.
